Best Director – Daniele Luchetti

Daniele Luchetti and Elio Germano

Daniele Luchetti – I’m trying to figure him out.  Could the same director who won the David di Donatello for best director and broke our hearts with this from “La Nostra Vita”:

be the same one that gave us Mina’s  “Ta Ra Ta Ta” on a bus?

I love this guy!

Born July 25, 1960 in Rome he started out as an assistant director for Nanni Moretti and they became friends. Moretti acted in Luchetti’s  1991 “Il Portaborse” – a movie that earned him 4 David di Donatello awards.

He’s getting a lot of attention these days for his “gritty” films like “La Nostra Vita” and ” Mio Fratello è Figlio Unico“, but I’ll always have a soft spot for his girlie “Dillo Con Parole Mie (Ginger and Cinnamon).

Fumo blu, E poi, e poi se un uomo sa di fumo. Ma sì, ma sì è veramente un uomo.

If a man smokes he’s really a man.
