Caesar Must Die – Americans Will Have The Chance To See It Later This Year

Caesar Must Die (Cesare Deve Morire) won the Silver Bear at the Berlin Film Festival and the David di Donatello Award for best film, the directors, the Taviani brothers also taking the best director award.

I only get to see movies if I’m A) in Italy and see it there, B) it’s been released on DVD in Italy and I buy it from ibs.it or C) it’s been distributed in the US, and since for Cesare Deve Morire none of those things have happened, I must wait. I’ll order it when it becomes available on DVD in Italy, but lucky us in America, Adopt Films has the rights and will release it here in the states later this year.

It was filmed in a real prisons and most of the actors are actual prisoners, staging a production of Julius Caesar. It looks spectacular – the trailer almost makes me cry.
