If you are dying, like I am, to find out more about Cinecittà World the soon (?) to open 800 million dollar Italian theme park that’s supposed to be like Hollywood’s Universal Studios, good luck. The website – http://www.cinecittaworld.it/ is completely useless and without any information about the opening date. When the project was announced in 2009 they used to say it would open in 2011 and now I see both 2012 and 2014, depending on the source.
The park is going to have rides based on movies that were made at Cinecittà, Italy’s Hollywood, like Ben Hur and the Fellini Films. I can’t for the “La Dolce Vita ride” – that should be…bizarre. And do you think there will be character breakfasts like at Walt Disney World with Italian actors dancing around signing autographs while I eat waffles? That would be super cool.
Why am I making fun of this? You know I can’t wait and I’ll be the first in line. I love theme parks and I love Italian movies so this is pretty much my dream come true – if it ever really opens.
