I don’t know if he’s out but they say he’s gay: gay or straight, I have a big crush on Filippo Timi and he is one of my favorite actors.
He does drama and comedy equally well and New York Magazine called his performance in Marco Bellocchio’s Vincere “One of 2010’s top performances that wouldn’t win an Oscar”. In Vincere he plays an explosive and intense Benito Mussolini.
He’s in one of my absolute favorites of the last few years, La Doppia Ora (The Double Hour), about a guy who meets a mysterious woman speed dating.
And in another one that is easy for us Americans to watch, Angel of Evil (Vallanzasca – Gli Angeli del Male), Timi’s performance is the most powerful in the film.
