So what have Italians been buying movie tickets for? Checco, of course, and adorable Paola Cortelessi is in two of the top ten films so far this year. 40% of the top ten are Italian, and that’s pretty good. It’s hard to compete against the Hollywood big budget films like Frozen.
1) Sole a Catinelle
directed by Gennaro Nunziante.
Checco Zalone’s a rich guy, that’s for sure, along with his buddy Gennaro Nunziante who has been directing his record breaking movies. They’ve made three films together, one more successful than the last. The second, Che Bella Giornata, made more money at the box office than Begnini’s La Vita è Bella, and the third, the top of this year’s box office Sole a Catinelle, made almost double that. He’s BIG, so why aren’t we seeing him in America?
Even more exciting, he’s beaten out the number 2 film at the box office by more than double…
2) Frozen – Il Regno di Ghiaccio
Chris Buck, Jennifer Lee
3) Cattivissimo Me 2
(Despicable Me 2)
Coffin, Chris Renaud.
5) Lo Hobbit – La desolazione di Smaug
(The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug)
6) Un boss in salotto
7) The Wolf of Wall Street
Incassi nel periodo: € 11.732.569
8) Colpi di fortuna
9) Sotto Una Buona Stella
10) The Amazing Spider-Man 2 – Il Potere di Electro (The Amazing Spider-Man 2) Marc Webb. € 9.063.170
